Hello to our lovely followers!
Sorry we haven’t been in touch for a while, we’ve been working like… well people that work hard.
We have been planning and organising some fabulous things for you to do though!
People might get annoyed if we say the ‘c-word’ (no! don’t be rude! we meant christmas!) but we just want to assure you that we are already whipping up a storm of fantastic party plans that will blow you away.

So it’s been a mad few weeks here with some awesome briefs coming in for everyone from Microsoft to Sainsbury’s which means the blogs and twitter have taken a back seat. The IT team have been feverishly developing our new team building website which should go live in a few days time and looks awesome! We have a hectic weekend coming up with everything from team builds to a corporate Easter egg hunt. On that note I must dash as we have over £500 of chocolate in the office that needs ‘attending’ to…..
So long for now
Well last week we carried out our first job with our new friends Mind Adrenaline. Was a great little Team Build for the guys and girls at DHL with Mind Adrenaline running some mental challenges and our chaps doing an It’s a Knockout for some physical fun.
Our new Team building brochure is within an ants breath of being finished and has over 30 great ideas for team building, team bonding and staff reward events.
Family fun days seem to have come back for 2011 as we predicted and with each booking we confirm we become more and more concerned for our sleep levels this year!
On a side note we have started to look towards Christmas 2011 and some exciting ideas and new entertainments and venues available to if you have the unenviable task of planning your Christmas party why not hand the reigns over to people who actually enjoy talking Christmas in March?
Quick update; it’s been quote central in the office recently with all of the team continually on the phone or pinging off emails as if they were going out of fashion. Got some really exciting briefs in over the last few weeks for a really diverse selection of companies from Standard Charter Bank through to Daimler Singapore! Recently we have had an exciting few events on including a directors dinner event for 200 staff from Boeringher Ingleheim in South Wales and the annual Churchill College Spring Ball which is always a fantastic affair.

So on Wednesday 2nd February while you mere mortals are trudging home from work us saints at White Star Events will be on a guided tour of the amazing Great Ormond Street Hospital. Haven’t those children been through enough I hear you cry? Well you horrible cynics we happen to be supporting the hospital on their largest annual fund raising event the GOSH 5K in association with The Royal Bank of Canada. We shall be sponsoring the family entertainments which shall be running during and after the race and shall include a variety of fun inflatables for non-runners to enjoy. There is even a suspicious rumour that White Star’s directors Paul and Ralph are going to run in the race however unless pigs are high in the skies above London that day it’s most unlikely. Anyway must dash i’m off to sit by the letter box and wait for my knighthood to arrive, ciao.

Without wanting to start spouting over used clichés we here at White Star Events have got a feeling this will be a great year for the events industry at all levels. From speaking with many of our clients it’s clear that budgets are starting to rise to levels not seen since pre 2008. We predict the return of the family fun day as employers start to re-value the importance of maintaining a happy work-life balance and how such events can promote the importance of families as major stake holders in a firm. Fun days are also perfect team building events with a relatively low cost per head, and well we don’t call the fun days for nothing! The beauty of family fun days is the sheer choice of variables that constitute them. With a huge choice of entertainers, attractions, venues, catering options, music performers, fireworks, goody bags and arena/stage shows there is a fun day option for every budget from £2000 upwards.
Top tip for 2011 – Now we’re clear of the worst it’s time to start re-investing in some lovely sub-prime mortgages and Ponzi schemes , after all lightening doesn’t strike twice does it……
So christmas has now well and truly passed and our belts here in the office have been stretched a notch or two, an occupational hazard of the events industry and Christmas. It was indeed an extremely busy few weeks for us with a variety of events supplied and managed by yours truly working with companies as diverse as Deloitte, Virgin Mobile, Coinstar, New Look, NHS and Tesco. All in all a ruddy good time was had by everyone attending these events, mind you free bars tend to have that effect.
We wish all our clients old, new and as yet undiscovered a very happy and prosperous new year and we are looking forward to working on some great events in 2011.
White Star Events have another successful event under their belts – team building for Tesco UK, at their Hertfordshire HQ.
We provided full event management, and a circus workshop for the guests, including everything from juggling and diablos through to low wire walking – although here at WSE we like to call it tightrope walking and imagine we’re part of the Cirque Du Soleil…
